They were able to go after all. Some of the guys still wanted to go so they planned to go to a place closer. The previous bishop of our ward offered his land for camping. He has several acres in Alpharetta. It sounds like the coolest place. It is a Christmas Tree farm so they were able to still camp in the "pines". You bet I will go there to get my tree. And Im going to get a 15ft one if possible. Tim doesn't think there are any that big. Anyway, On the back of his property they have their own lake where you can use a canoe, row boat or a paddle boat to go out on the lake. They went out on a paddle boat and girls tried fishing. They loved it. They also had quads to ride and they had a swimming pool to go swimming but it is WAY too cold to do that. (It has been in the 70's). They also had a HUGE playcenter. It sounds like the coolest place! Friday night they had dinner and Tim's famous Dutch Oven Peach Cobbler and Ice Cream and on Saturday they provided Breakfast and after that, Tim and the girls were able to have some fun on the lake and riding quads. Here are some pictures...
Ready to go.

Daddy Daughter Campout

Hurricaine IKE
For the past two weeks all extra things that have to do with church have been cancelled. From Scouts to Preisthood meeting and everything in between... because of the gas shortage. They are trying to help us concerve gas. This weekend was supposed to be the Daddy Daughter Campout. Kenna and Katrina were so excited to go and roast their PINK Marshamellows. As of yesterday morning the campout had not be cancelled so after I made applesauce with some girls in my ward (YUMMM) I went ahead and went to the store and got some stuff and then drove aroud town looking for gas. I found a Kroger that still had gas. There was a BIG line but I waited. By the time I got to the front of the line they said they were going to close soon cuz the gas was just about out. CRAZY! Luckily I was able to get a 1/2 of a tank of gas (which filled my car). It has been like this for the past two weeks. Every gas station that has gas has a line and they are usually out by noon or early after noon. Most gas stations have yellow tape and are closed. In our ward in AZ they suggested to always keep your tank atleast 1/2 full and to go refill before you got below 1/2. We have tried to do that since then. I filled up the day before the gas ran out last week. And there were several days where nobody could get gas. It was such a stress releiver and a great comfort to know I was prepared and able to go a coupple weeks with out getting gas. Had I been close to "E" or running on "E" like I used to always do... we would have been stressed and soon been in alot of troubble. The curch knows what they are talking about when they say be prepared! Something big may not happen but it sure will be a big releif and stress releiver to know that in a crisis, no matter how small, you are prepared and will be ok and can survive for a coupple weeks on the gas in your car or the food in your pantry. By all means, I am not saying "Look at me, Im great, I was prepared" That is the furthest from the truth. I have been lazy about having a good year supply and 72 hour kit. I never thought I would be the one talking about how I was actually prepared for a crisis. Even though it is a small example, it has opened my eyes to the importance of being being prepared. Anyway, we got an e-mail last night saying they cancelled the campout. BUMMER! It is understandable but a BUMMER!
Update: A few still wanted to go camping, so a family close offered their property for camping. So Tim and the girls still went camping. They were so excited! I will get pictures up soon.
Many gas stations look like this...Closed
This is the line I waited in at Kroger... (One of two lines)
They have people out keeping everybody moving the right direction and making sure no fights broke out. (it was happening)
The sign on the gas pump...
This is what we are paying for gas right now... $3.99
The cute things...
As I am making cards for this month's swap, Katrina and I are singing the wheels on the bus, she suddenly stops singing and says:
Katrina: "Mommy, are you a boy or a girl?"
Me: "Im a Girl, Daddy's a boy, Tylers a boy, Kenna's a girl and you are a girl"
Katrina: "Ohh.." (And then giggles)
Kenna comes home from school and is talking to us:
Kenna: "I think Zachary is really cute"
Tim and I: "Yea, do you miss Zachary in Arizona?" (Kenna liked Cresta and Bishops son, Zack Topal in our ward)
Kenna: "No not that Zachary. There is a boy in my class named Zachary. He's really cute! And I can't take Peanut Butter Sandwiches to school anymore or I can't sit by him at lunch because he is very allergic to Nuts and Peanut butter."
Tim: "Shay... get a year supply of Peanut Butter! It is Peanut Butter sandwiches for Kenna every day from now on." :o)

A FUN DAY!
I have to post some pictures from Thursday...
Some of the girls from our ward went to an apple orchard and picked apples. I didn't make it so I went to the store and bought apples. Then we got together and made apple sauce and bottled it. It was the best applesauce I have ever eaten. I don't like apple sauce but this was soo good! Especially when it was warm. YUM!
Then we had our AZ girls night out. There are a few more girls from AZ that didn't make it..

Turning 29...for the FIRST time.
Yesterday (17th) was my 29th Birthday. CRAZY! Tim asked what I wanted and I said I wanted a girls night out. So I called the girls and planned the evening. My long time friend Monika Peterson and my sweet neighbor/friend Maria Bramwell went to get pedicures with me and then Angela Calhoun and Deb White met up with us for Ice Cream afterwards. They are the sweetest! I don't know why we werent better friends in Arizona. I'm so sad I didn't get a picture with Maria getting pedicures with us before she left to her Young Women's meeting. I was having so much fun talking and I totally forgot. (I'm so sorry Maria) And I have to say, Sarah Bowen was there in spirit. Her daughter got sick at the last minuet and she couldn't make it. We missed you Sarah. So here are some pictures from my fun evening...
To start off, Tim brought home dinner and these...
Twice in one week! WOW!-- Katrina loves to smell these...
Tim took the kids to Target and they picked out some jewlery for me. I think they did a good job...
Getting pedicures...(I will have to photoshop Maria in) :o)
ARIZONA girls getting Milk Shakes at Steak and Shake. Yummm! Deb, Angela, Monika, and Me. We don't even look tired even though we stayed out until 11...
I'm feeling more festive with all this fun fall stuff I got from Angela...
And this cute ceramic pumpkin from Deb filled with Pumpkin Spice Hershey Kisses. YUM! Everytime I open the lid the smell of pumpkin pie rushes out. YUMMY!!!!
Maria gave me this YUMMY Pumpkin Bread Mix. How did everybody know I LOVE pumpkin?!
Monika knows me to well... What a cute Scrapbook Album.
When I got home these were by my front door...
And my Visiting Teachers brought choc. chip cookies. Maria also gave me some delicious chocolate cookies but The kids and I gobbled them up before dinner. My computer has a mind of it's own and rotates pictures when I don't want it to...
This was the BEST birhtday ever! Thanks so much for being there and making it a special day! I don't know if I could be here with out you girls. You make this feel like home.

What did I do to deserve this?
Once a year sometimes longer, I run out of Flour. Coincidentally, Tim always goes to the store when I need flour. So he was at the store getting some stuff and I text him asking for "Flour" he comes home with some flowers. Of course he gets my flour too. He says he was going to the store to get me some flowers anyway because last week was a rough week. Tyler is struggling with his teachers way of teaching and is having a hard time understanding his homework. So we spent several hours on homework each night and redoing work done in school. He knows most of this stuff. He had no problem last year understanding. He was on Honor Roll. And all of a sudden he doesn't understand how to do it. I don't get it. It is like he is regressing. Anyway, it was a rough week. Especially since I HATED homework growing up. And I still hate it! (But I don't let them know that.) Anyway, he seems to be doing much better this week. Kenna on the other hand loves learning and loves homework. She is so excited to learn to read. She all ready knows 50 sight words. She is a favorite in her class and seems to be ahead. (But she is the oldest, so it makes since.) She is adored by her teachers. She has two teachers. Every class has 18 students max and two teachers.
Our outside entertainment is back!
It's like Christams again! This trampoleen has been in a box for 8 months. We finally got around to putting it back up on Saturday. The kids were so excited! They jumped all evening. Sadly, we didn't bring our new swing set with us. So the neighbors swing sets will have to do. :o)
Not enough sleep...
Apparently Katrina/Cinderella has not been getting enough sleep. It's not often she will fall asleep sitting in a chair like this...

8 New Posts
Well...it's been a busy past two weeks. I just posted 8 new posts. Check them all out to see what we have been up to. None of them are very long accept my Drunk Driving story. :o)
Drunk Driving?!?!?
SO, Last night (Sunday) we were at a friends house for their sons birthday party. We left about 10pm. The kids were playing out side and petting the dog, and I pet the dog too so I and the kids put some hand sanitizer on our hands before we drove off. I had only been to their house once before and it was during the day so I felt a little lost coming home from their house in the dark. I couldn't see anything and the road didn't look familiar. I had my GPS but I think it was taking me the wrong way. I was driving because Tim was too tired and he wanted to call his parents. I had just pulled out of their neighborhood and was driving about 43 mph I was debating on turning around because I didn't think we were going the right way. I was about 1/4 mile up the road, when the lights go on behind me. Tim was like "How fast are you going?" I said "43, I wasn't speeding". I didn't know why I got pulled over. So the cop comes up to the window and asks for my Drivers License. As I'm getting it out, I asked "Can I ask why I am getting pulled over" (As Tyler is starting to cry in the back cuz he is scared) He said "You were going 15 under the speed limit and you were all over the road". HELLO!!! The roads are so windy, narrow and all over the place. It is impossible to drive straight!!! But I didn't say that, I said "REALLY?!? WOW, I didn't expect that, I knew I wasn't speeding." Then he asked me to step out of the car. I said "Sure" and I got out and he was shining the flash light on my feet, I was like what is going on? Then he asked me if I had been drinking? I stared laughing. I said "No, I have never drank a day in my life, I swear." And he said "Your car reaks of alcohol" I said "REALLY? I swear I've never drank. We just came from their little boy's birthday party. There was no alcohol" He said "Did you recently put on hand sanitizer?" I said "Yea, right before we left our friends house, they live right up the road" He said "stay here" and he went and asked Tim "Does she have hand sanitizer in her purse?" Tim said "Yea, here it is, she just put it on the kids" he took it and smelt it and gave it back to Tim and came back to me and said that the Hand sanitizer was what he was smelling. I said "Really? I didn't know alcohol smelled like that" And I smelt my hands. He said "Yea, some alcohol does" I was so scared I wanted to cry but instead I am laughing. I again said "I've never drank, I didn't know it smelt like that" Anyway, he gave me my license back and said I could go. I said Okay, I will go 55 mph now. And he said "Don't now because now it is 45" I said "Okay, Thanks" Tim was laughing so hard when I got in the car. I didn't think it was very funny cuz I was so scared. But now that I have had a day to calm down from it, it is a pretty funny story. I was totally shaking on the way home. And My GPS was taking me the wrong way. Well, not the wrong way but a different way than the way we got there. So anyway, kind of funny. My sister-in-law said "You need to lay off the hand sanitizer."
MY CRAFT ROOM IS BACK!!!
I worked all week to get my craft room in order. I finally finished it on SATURDAY!!! YAY!!! Now I can work on those cards I was supposed to send to AZ for the card swap on Friday. Sorry girls... your cards are coming!
